Special Notice

On September 11, 2024, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) changed the amount needed to maintain the Federal Universal Service Fund (USF).  After October 1, 2024, you may see a different amount on your bill going to the Federal USF.  The proposed USF Contribution factor for the Fourth Quarter of 2024 is 35.8%  This amount may change quarterly and may be assessed on more or fewer VOICE line items on your bill, depending on actions taken by the FCC.  The Federal Universal Service Program is designed to keep local telephone service rates affordable for all customers in all areas of the United States.

These charges are used to support a federal program which funds telecommunications services and products for schools, libraries, rural health care facilities and sparsely populated rural areas of the country which are expensive and/or difficult to serve.

WST generates customer statements the last week of the month.  The October statement immediately follows the FCC’s decision. WST apologizes for this short notice.
