Third Quarter 2025 USF Contribution Factor Decreases  (Voice Customers)

On June 11, 2025 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) changed the amount needed to maintain the Federal Universal Service Fund (USF).  After July 1, 2025, you may see a different amount on your bill going to the Federal USF.  The proposed USF Contribution factor for the Third Quarter of 2025 is 36.0%  This amount may change quarterly and may be assessed on more or fewer line items on your bill, depending on actions taken by the FCC.  The Federal Universal Service Program is designed to keep local telephone service rates affordable for all customers in all areas of the United States.

These charges are used to support a federal program which funds telecommunications services and products for schools, libraries, rural health care facilities and sparsely populated rural areas of the country which are expensive and/or difficult to serve.
